Acceptance of Terms
By using MintCareer, you agree to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and MintCareer (the "Service," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by MintCareer LLC.

You accept these Terms when you:

  • Click "I Agree," "Sign Up," or similar buttons
  • Upload your resume or any document to the Service
  • Analyze any job posting using our tools
  • Make a payment for premium features
  • Continue using the Service after we update these Terms

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use MintCareer.

Eligibility
Who can use MintCareer

You must be at least 18 years old to use MintCareer.

MintCareer processes resume data, employment history, and other sensitive personal information. To protect minors and comply with privacy laws including COPPA, we restrict the Service to adults only.

By using MintCareer, you represent and warrant that you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • Are not barred from using the Service under applicable law
  • Will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws

If we discover that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data immediately.

Geographic Restrictions
United States only
US ONLY SERVICE

MintCareer is available exclusively to users in the United States. The Service is designed for the US job market and US employment practices only.

By using MintCareer, you represent that you are physically located in the United States and applying for jobs in the United States.

Why US-Only

Our AI analysis is trained on US job market data and resume standards. Our interview strategies reflect US business culture. All salary data is US-specific. Supporting international employment law (GDPR, UK DPA, etc.) adds complexity beyond our current scope.

What We Do Not Provide

  • Advice for non-US job applications
  • CV formatting for UK, European, or other international markets
  • Work visa or immigration guidance
  • International salary comparisons
  • Analysis of non-US job postings
TEMPORARY TRAVEL

If you are temporarily traveling outside the US, you may continue using MintCareer for US job searches only, provided you understand all analysis remains US-market specific.

What MintCareer Is Not

MintCareer is not:

  • A staffing agency, recruiter, or employment service
  • A licensed career counseling practice
  • A legal, financial, or mental health advisory service
  • A background check or credential verification service
  • A job board or job placement guarantee

MintCareer is a software tool that assists your job search. All employment decisions remain yours alone.

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Important limitations of AI analysis
NO GUARANTEES OF EMPLOYMENT

We make zero guarantees about your ability to obtain employment, interview success, job offers, ATS pass rates, or the accuracy of any AI-generated analysis. MintCareer is a tool to assist your job search, not a guarantee of any outcome.

All analysis and recommendations are generated by artificial intelligence, including Anthropic's Claude API. AI-generated content:

  • May contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information
  • Should not be your sole basis for career decisions
  • Requires independent verification before use in applications
  • Does not guarantee any specific ATS score or pass rate
  • Is provided for informational purposes only

Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • Verifying all information before submitting applications
  • Ensuring the accuracy and truthfulness of your resume
  • Researching potential employers independently
  • Confirming that job postings are legitimate
  • Detecting and avoiding employment scams
  • Making all final employment decisions
THIRD-PARTY AI

We use Anthropic's Claude API. Your resume and job descriptions are sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic does not train on API data and retains data for a maximum of 30 days for safety monitoring. See anthropic.com/privacy.

User Accounts
Your account responsibilities

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
  • Maintain and update your information as needed
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Not share your account credentials with anyone
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits, transfer your account to another person, or use another person's account without their permission.

Prohibited Conduct
What you agree not to do

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract our source code
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools without authorization
  • Attempt unauthorized access to our systems or other accounts
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code
  • Violate any intellectual property rights
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other users
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits
  • Share, resell, or sublicense access without authorization
  • Upload false, fraudulent, or misleading information
  • Use AI-generated suggestions to misrepresent your qualifications
  • Apply for jobs requiring licenses or certifications you do not hold
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
  • Use the Service to build a competing product

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination without notice or refund.

Intellectual Property
Who owns what

Our Property

MintCareer and all its contents, features, and functionality are owned by MintCareer LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws. This includes but is not limited to:

  • The MintCareer name, logo, and brand identity
  • All website design, code, and user interface elements
  • Career playbooks, guides, glossary content, and educational materials
  • The dual-pass resume optimization methodology
  • The 12-signal AI detection engine and humanization strategies
  • All algorithms, analysis frameworks, and proprietary processes

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works based on any part of the Service without our express written permission.

AI-Generated Output

Analysis results, resume suggestions, and other AI-generated content produced for you through the Service are provided for your personal use in your job search. You may use this output in your applications. However, the underlying prompts, analysis frameworks, and methodologies that generate this output remain our intellectual property.

User Content and Data
Your resume and data rights

You Own Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you upload to MintCareer, including your resume, cover letters, and any personal information you provide.

License You Grant Us

By uploading content to MintCareer, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Process your content through our AI analysis tools
  • Send your content to third-party AI services (Anthropic) for processing
  • Store your content to provide the Service to you
  • Use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our Service

This license exists solely to provide the Service to you and terminates when you delete your account, subject to our data retention policy described in our Privacy Policy.

Your Representations

By uploading content, you represent that:

  • The content is yours and you have the right to share it
  • The content is accurate and truthful
  • The content does not violate any law or third-party rights
  • You understand the content will be processed by AI systems

Payment Terms
Pricing, billing, and refunds

Pricing and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in US Dollars (USD) only. All payments are processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to:

  • Pay all fees associated with your selected plan
  • Provide accurate and current billing information
  • Authorize automatic recurring charges for your subscription
  • Accept that prices may change with 30 days advance notice

Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method up to 3 times. If all attempts fail, your premium access will be suspended until payment is resolved. You remain responsible for all fees incurred.

Auto-Renewal and Cancellation

Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel before the next billing cycle. When you cancel, you retain access through the end of your current paid period. No prorated refunds are issued for partial billing periods.

REFUND POLICY: ALL SALES FINAL

We do not offer refunds for: partial billing periods after cancellation, unused premium features, dissatisfaction with AI results, price changes, technical issues resolved within 48 hours, or user error.

Exceptions (only these qualify): Billing errors caused by us, service unavailable for 7 or more consecutive days, confirmed fraud on your account, or as required by applicable law.

Beta and Promotional Pricing

Current pricing may be promotional. We reserve the right to increase prices with 30 days notice, modify or eliminate free tier features, and change feature availability between tiers. We will make reasonable efforts to honor promotional rates for existing subscribers.

Limitation of Liability
What we are and are not responsible for

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

What We Are Not Liable For

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MintCareer is not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Failed job applications or missed employment opportunities
  • AI errors, inaccuracies, or unexpected output
  • Unauthorized access to your account
  • Third-party actions, content, or services
  • Employment decisions made using the Service
  • Employer reactions to AI-generated or AI-optimized content
  • Incorrect salary estimates or job market data
  • Resume formatting issues or ATS filtering outcomes
  • Job scams or fraudulent postings you encounter
  • Service interruptions or downtime
LIABILITY CAP

Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.

Some states do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages. If you reside in such a state, the mandatory protections of your state law still apply.

Indemnification
Your agreement to protect us from claims

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MintCareer, its owner, affiliates, and any future officers, directors, employees, or agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from or related to:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Content you upload, including resume data and personal information
  • Your misrepresentation of qualifications to employers
  • Your violation of any law or third-party rights
  • Any claim by a third party related to your use of the Service
  • Your use of AI-generated content in applications or communications

This indemnification obligation survives termination of your account and these Terms.

Dispute Resolution
How we resolve disagreements

Informal Resolution First

Before filing any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at jeffrey@mintcareer.ai and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, all disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration, not in court, except that either party may assert claims in small claims court if they qualify (claims under $10,000).

  • Administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules
  • Location: Cook County, Illinois, or remotely via video conference
  • Governed by the laws of the State of Illinois
  • Each party bears their own costs unless the arbitrator decides otherwise
  • The arbitrator's decision is final and binding

Class Action Waiver

You and MintCareer agree that each may bring claims only in individual capacity. Neither party may participate as a plaintiff or class member in any class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.

30-DAY OPT-OUT

You have 30 days from your first use of the Service to opt out of arbitration. Send written notice to jeffrey@mintcareer.ai including your name, email address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of the arbitration agreement. If you opt out, you may pursue claims in court, but the class action waiver still applies.

Termination
Ending your account

You Can Leave Anytime

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at jeffrey@mintcareer.ai. When you do:

  • Access to the Service ends immediately
  • Your data will be deleted per our retention policy (see Privacy Policy)
  • No refunds are issued for prepaid periods

We May Terminate For

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Non-payment of fees after notice
  • Abusive behavior toward the Service or its users
  • Any reason at our reasonable discretion with notice

Survival

The following sections survive termination of your account: Intellectual Property (Section 8), Limitation of Liability (Section 11), Indemnification (Section 12), Dispute Resolution (Section 13), and General Provisions (Section 15).

General Provisions
Standard legal provisions

Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days notice via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal proceedings not subject to arbitration shall be brought in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and MintCareer. They supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications regarding the Service.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by MintCareer to be effective.

Force Majeure

MintCareer shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, acts of war or terrorism, epidemics, government actions, power failures, internet or telecommunications outages, and third-party service disruptions (including AI API provider outages).

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets.
